Chelmsford Christmas Tree Recycling in Aid of Farleigh Hospice
While we’re usually more likely to be found transporting pine dressers than pine trees, once a year we branch out (yes, we went there!) into Christmas Tree removal in aid of Farleigh Hospice.
The idea is a simple one. If you're in Chelmsford, in return for a small donation, we will collect and recycle your Christmas tree. You get rid of your needle-shedding nuisance, and together we raise thousands of pounds for Farleigh Hospice.
The team of staff and volunteers at Farleigh Hospice do amazing work supporting patients and families affected by life-limiting illnesses. They provide an invaluable service both to in-patients and in the community throughout the Chelmsford area. At Reliable, we are humbled and proud to be able to contribute to this campaign in support of the commitment and care that Farleigh Hospice demonstrates throughout the year.
Now in its fifth year, the Christmas Tree Recycling campaign has been a fantastic success for Farleigh. In the first year, £3,700 was raised from collections spanning just 3 Chelmsford postcodes. Last year the scheme covered double that original area, raising over £20,000.
This year our team, along with other local businesses, will be heading out over the weekend of the 5th and 6th January, working tirelessly to harvest trees from the CM0, CM1, CM2, CM3, CM7, CM8, CM9 and CM77 postcodes. The trees we collect will be shredded and used in local parks or as fuel at power stations.
If you would like to register for your tree to be collected, head to the Farleigh Hospice website, enter your details and donate before 12 noon on the 3rd of January. There is a suggested minimum donation of £5 for the pick-up and recycling of your tree, all of which will go towards allowing Farleigh Hospice to provide specialist care to patients and their families in times of need.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from everyone at Reliable!
About Farleigh Hospice
For over three decades, Farleigh Hospice has been providing care and support for anyone affected by a life-limiting illness or bereavement. We help people to live as actively as possible from the point of diagnosis to the end of their lives, by providing physical and emotional care, free of charge.
We support people affected by any life-limiting illness, including lung disease, neurological conditions, heart failure and cancer. We also provide bereavement support to anyone living in mid Essex, even if they have had no previous connection with the hospice.
Farleigh Hospice receives approximately 38% of its income from the local NHS, however we rely on the support and goodwill of the local community to contribute to the £16,500 it costs to provide our services each day.
Whether you are ill, bereaved, or worried about someone who is, Farleigh Hospice is here for you.
